As a child I drew for fun with pencil and charcoal, never knowing it would grow into something deeper. What began as simple recreation has become a way of honoring people and their stories through hand-drawn portraits.
Today, I create commissioned works with the same care and attention, giving each person a piece of art meant to last.
Featured Portraits
Recognized in international competition and publications, including Arts to Hearts Magazine: Issue 10
Behind the Mask 14 x 17 in | Colored pencil, graphite, charcoal on paper | 2025 (A split portrait of Dr. Nakano, cardiothoracic surgeon, balancing identity and duty. One side shows his face in color, the other in grayscale surgical gear, divided by a seam. Using pencil and graphite, the work reveals the humanity beneath clinical detachment.
White Coat | Black Tie: Beyond the Practice 18 x 18 in | Colored pencil, graphite, charcoal on paper | 2025 (This portrait of Dr. Kourlis honors both surgical precision and humanity. Using graphite, charcoal, and colored pencil, it reflects discipline, resilience, and the balance between clinical excellence and personal identity within the demanding life of a cardiac surgeon.)
